老銘鏡Ai Noct Nikkor 58mm f/1.2從1977發表到1997停產以來，似乎將要後繼有「鏡」了!

根據NR原文，老58mm f1.2是Nikon最大光圈的鏡頭之一(Nikon也曾製造過50mm f1.0，但很少見)，
同時也是有手工打磨非球面鏡片的鏡頭之一。
這顆Noct-Nikkor鏡有非常特別的特性:

"Because this lens has a Aspherical front lens element which assures optimum correction for coma,
particularly at maximum aperture, it makes bright point sources of light near the corner or edges of the
image appear as dot rather than comet-shape blurs. Meaning to say, this lens is make to perform its
best at maximum apertures,
which other lenses find it hard to restore their optical performances. Over the years,
the continual refinements has made it possible to focus down as close as 0.5m (1.7 ft) distortion free
while contrast remains high."
因為這顆鏡頭有一片非球面的前玉，使它有最佳的像差校正，特別在最大光圈的情況下。
它讓明亮的點光源在影像的邊緣呈現出點狀而非彗星狀的模糊，
也就是說，這顆鏡頭是設計在最大光圈下，就能有最佳表現的。
這是其他鏡頭難以達成的。
這些年來，技術持續的進步，讓最近對焦距離為0.5m，且維持高對比與沒有變形的鏡頭成為可能。
